Facials
Q: I’m new. What facial should I book first?
A: Book the Hydrolux. It’s a deep-cleansing, multi-modality service that’s great for all skin types and helps prep your skin for future treatments. If you’re unsure about your skin or want a full analysis, schedule a New Client Consult to get a personalized treatment plan.
Q: What’s the difference between your facials?
A: Each facial targets a specific skin goal. Check each service description for details or ask during your consult.
Q: Can I book a facial if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
A: Yes! Please let us know in advance so we can tailor your facial to avoid contraindicated ingredients and ensure it’s pregnancy-safe.
Q: What should I avoid before my facial?
A: Avoid retinol, chemical exfoliants, and sun exposure for at least 3 days before your appointment. Please arrive with a bare face if possible. If you've had recent injectables, chemical peels, or laser, check with your provider and let us know beforehand.
Q: Do you offer dermaplaning or microdermabrasion?
A: Yes. Some facials, like the Hydrolux, include dermaplaning and/or microdermabrasion. These are used to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and enhance product absorption. Add-ons are also available depending on your needs.
Q: Will I be red or peeling after a facial?
A: Most facials leave your skin glowing, not peeling. If deeper exfoliation is used or if you receive extractions, you may experience temporary redness. We’ll always walk you through aftercare so your skin heals beautifully.
Waxing
Q: Do you offer Brazilian or full body waxing?
A: Yes, Brazilian waxing and other body areas are available for women. See the full list on Vagaro under the Waxing section.
Q: How long does my hair need to be?
A: Hair should be at least 1/4" long (about the length of a grain of rice). Avoid shaving at least 2-3 weeks before your appointment.
Q: Do you wax clients with coarse or curly hair?
A: Absolutely. Our waxing services are inclusive and we are experienced in waxing all hair types, including coarse and curly.
General Info and Policies
Q: Where are you located?
A: We’re located inside of Glamour Med Spa, 360c Centre Street, Jamaica Plain.
Q: Is your space wheelchair accessible?
A: Unfortunately, not at this time. We’re actively working toward creating a more inclusive space in the future.
Q: Is there a weight limit for the treatment bed?
A: Yes, the treatment bed supports up to 375 lbs. If you have any concerns, feel free to text us before booking.
Q: Can I bring my child or a guest to my appointment?
A: To maintain a peaceful environment and for safety, we ask that you come alone.
Q: What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
A: You can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your appointment using the link in your confirmation email. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a fee.
Q: What if I’m running late?
A: There’s a 10-minute grace period. After that, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled. Please text (781) 518-3599 as soon as possible.
Q: Do you accept walk-ins?
A: No, all services are by appointment only. Same-day bookings may be available depending on the schedule.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and cash.
Q: Is there parking available?
A: Yes, free parking is available near the building and on the street.
Q: Do you offer package deals or memberships?
A: Yes, we offer facial packages that provide great value if you're looking to commit to your skincare journey. You can view all available packages under the "Packages" section on our Vagaro booking site. Follow us on Instagram or subscribe to our email list for updates on deals and promos.
